Well, this is typical. I was super motivated for the first three days, but then completely fell off the wagon. I ate Chinese food - twice. Didn't exercise at all. Stopped tracking completely. Gained back most of the two lbs I lost in the first three days.
I've been trying to figure out what happened. I went a little bit over my calories (like 44 over) on day 3, but I thought I was ok with it. I didn't exercise for two days in a row because I scheduled a rest day and then the next day I had PT for my neck and was really sore after. I weighed myself and saw that I had lost 2 lbs but was still at above 200, which is just a sad number to look at. I had Chinese food with my husband on Wednesday, which felt like failing just to choose that over cooking dinner. I still tracked it and realized I was over my calories by 1000! And I think that's where I jumped head first off the wagon. But really, I'd been scooting closer to the edge for the entire day before that.
ok, so here's what I'm going to do today to rectify this stupid situation. I'm going to do my best to track the food I ate for the two days that I didn't track. because I need to figure out the maximum number of calories I can eat without gaining. I need to change my calorie range so that it is less strict to keep myself from getting horribly discouraged if I go over by a few. Then I'm going to do 30 day shred, take a shower, and move on with my life.
Tomorrow I'll do my update for the week and weigh in again, since it's only been 6 days today, not 7.
Also - I tried the steel-cut oats again and they were great. I figured out that by "low" they meant slightly-lower-than-medium, not the low setting on my burner. I think I'm going to make a big batch on Sunday, portion it out, and microwave those for breakfast all week. Because it was hard this week trying to figure out what to have for breakfast that only took 5 minutes to get ready.
