Eh, feeling pretty ok today, even though a lot seems to be going wrong. We've spent about 8 - 10 thousand dollars in car repairs in the last year or so and now my car is going into the shop...AGAIN! I think it's the alternator. But we JUST spent about 1500 last month on repairs. Plus, the 480 on our other car. That's 2,000 in one month alone!
On the other hand, I'm very thankful that we can afford to make those payments and thankful for my job. There was a time that no way in heck could a big expense like that happen! So the car situation sucks, but I obviously have a lot to be thankful for.
I haven't blogged in the last few days - my husband has been home at the same time as I and he HATES it when I'm on the computer. It causes fights. So I spend the time with him. Of course, I love spending time with him but I feel bad not getting on SP especially now that I'm trying to be more active! Well, happiness in my marriage is important, too!
Stress levels are pretty ok even with everything going on. I don't know if it's the acupuncture or the Chinese herbs or the 10 other supplements I'm on for fertility. But really, I'm not getting that overwhelming sense of PANIC!!! that I usually get. Yeah, there's some "oh, crap" but not the kind that used to just paralyze me. That's a huge step :)
Eating has been okay, but I'm not doing a 100% job of logging and I really need to. Even though I do WANT to follow South Beach, my naturopath really, really, really does not want me doing that kind of diet. I've cut out a lot that is also not allowed on SB, but she still wants me eating grains and such. So I'm having a little bit of brown rice here and there. The other day I made brown rice and mixed it with roasted veggies 50:50 so even a nice, heaping portion wasn't that much rice! I'm also allowed to have yams sometimes, and I do love my yams! I'm also having Ezekiel bread here and there. There is some evidence that going too low-carb isn't good for fertility. My body is out of balance and she wants my diet balanced. So: brown rice now and then, one serving of fruit a day, veggies, etc.
I am VERY happy to report that I have been without coffee in just under 2 months and have now been on only herbal teas (transitioned with green/black tea) for 3 days! I'm feeling great and have great energy :)
Overall, following my naturopath's guidelines for food + the many supplements + acupuncture has me feeling pretty darned good! Of course, the end goal is a baby, but feeling good on the way isn't such a bad thing!
