Okay, so...today has actually been a pretty darn good day. I didn't get as much sleep as I would have liked, but I'm going to bed early so all is well. I woke up early this morning, made my protein smoothie for breakfast (TOOK MY VITAMINS!!!) and hit the gym. I got there a little early for my Zumba class, so I hopped on the treadmill and did a brisk 10 minute walk to warm up. Zumba was, as always, AWESOME.
Got home from the gym, showered, cleaned the house, washed dishes, did laundry, made lunch, picked up my little brother from school, etc. and that was pretty much my afternoon. I then went back to the gym, planning on doing either a strength-training session or a longer treadmill session before going to another Zumba class. Guess which one I ended up doing... I swear, I'm gonna get some strength-training in tomorrow. Anyway, after an hour on the treadmill, I was pooped! So, I returned my Zumba pass (2 hrs of cardio today in total-not too shabby) and decided to go to Trader Joe's and pick up a few things (not good to do when you're hungry!!). I dropped more dough than I had anticipated but it was all on healthy foods and I'll eat it all eventually. =D
So to recap: I did not get the 7/8 hours of sleep I'm aiming for, but I did eat healthy, tracked everything I've eaten, got in 2 hours of cardio today and tracked that, drank about 10 glasses of water, took my vitamins, and I've been active on the site today. All in all, pretty darn good and I've reached almost all of my daily goals again!
The reason for the blog title is this:
I hopped on the scale today out of curiosity, and after 428 fitness minutes so far this week (equaling a 4920 calorie burn-so says my fitness tracker) and eating within (read: at the top of) my calorie range, I thought it would show a pretty good loss. It is showing the opposite and I realize I still have till Monday to weigh in officially, but it was frustrating!
Last time I worked out like this, I was eating UNDER my suggested calorie range and I learned the following week that it was more beneficial and effective to eat WITHIN my suggested calorie range. But now it's happening again.... Okay, maybe it's a little too early to be freaking out about this. I was just surprised by that darn scale when I've been doing (or so I've been thinking!) what I need to do. I'm gonna step back from the panic button and wait until Monday to see what it says. I may need more advice then. I'll let you know!
