Fatigue, fatigue, fatigue--why?

Friday, December 07, 2012

Let's hope this is very temporary! Maybe it is the flu shot I had . I just don't want to put out any physical effort. I pushed myself to drive and get my hearing aid fixed yesterday, But I have to go back again today. I have not been able to push myself to get to swimming since Tue. night! And I love doing that. I am definitely dragging. Chris

emoticon Chris, I feel the same way......all the time. For about 3 years now. Not long after I started having these symptoms, I was diagnosed with Fibro & Chronic Fatigue syndrome. On rare occasions, I have a good day. But that is not often.

I hope that your feeling this way only because of the flu shot. And that you will soon be feeling better. emoticon

Think about what the flu shot does: it releases a dead or retarded virus into your body to stimulate your immune system to learn what it is and how to kill it. This is what a vaccine does to protect you from getting sick - it just trains your immune system to work. When your immune system is stimulated it draws energy and resources from other parts of your body to attack the foreign invader, so you feel tired and weak. The flu shot can not make you sick, at most it can make you slightly more prone to getting sick to something else because your immune system is already attacking something and takes longer to realize there's another virus to fight. Therefore, for 2-3 days after a flu shot you might feel slightly sick - after all, every symptom of being sick with a cold or flu is actually symptoms of your immune system fighting: a fever, the chills, feeling weak, coughing, aches, etc is all your immune system taking over your body's resources to fight.

Take it easy for another day or two, but keep up some gentle exercise, lots of water, and healthy food to make sure you give your immune system all the fighting power it needs to learn how to battle the flu strains in the vaccine. Doing so will help it know how to fight the active virus when you come across it this winter.

Hope it isn't a virus coming on. Mine was just getting the mindset to get going. So I got my Christmas cards ready to send out, and that was a big step for me...It broke the dull drums. Hope you can find something that will do the same for you. emoticon emoticon

i think, listen to your body. if you are tired, rest more. this time of year, colds and the flu are all over the place. get the bug, and before the major symptoms, you will be tired for no good reason. that means your body is busy. give it a couple of days and you'll feel better.

Said a prayer for strength to do the things that must be done and the wisdom to know what can slide as you catch your breath and health.
Check your liquid intake, the vitamins, the protein level, the sleep
If you are working the plan, then it will work for you, but viruses do enter our world and need extra rest and peace to fight them.
Caring how you are...Be strong and of GOOD courage!

This to shall pass.....but, in the mean time it is hard to keep on moving when you just can't seem to put one foot in front of the other. Maybe you need a check up if it doesn't pass soon.
