Back to 225!

I lost 4 lbs this week. Woop woop! After I - let's face it - gave up in November, I gained back 7 lbs. This week, I managed to lose 4 of those pounds, and I'm back to 225.
I've also gained some self-control. Last night, I ended up having to work later than I should have and I had to literally RUN home, instead of walking, to make it there on time. C and I went to the doctor and I had a fairly good appointment. I'm finally, after 8 years without them, getting a pair of glasses to have as a back up to my much preferred contact lenses. And I found a new "version" of my contact lenses which are MUCH more comfortable than the last iteration I was wearing.
We didn't get out of the doctor's until 6:30, then had to run to the store for cat food and whatnot. Going to the store has become a real chore, what with the tight budget. It also reminds C of the fact that he's still not working, and he feels responsible everytime I decide against an item I "don't really need..." So that was a bit of a bummer. We ended up getting home at around 7:30, just tired and hungry and crabby.
But we drove right past the fast food options. We skipped even Subway salads. We went home and I threw some chicken in the sink to thaw, and I got up on my bike for 45 minutes. By the time I was done exercising, I was able to cook the chicken and steam some broccoli and we had a good dinner on the table in 15 minutes.
Good bread is one of my very favorite foods, and we picked up a loaf of soft, cheesy bread to have with dinner last night. And it was grand! I ended up having an extra piece because I was SO ravenous by the time we ate, having last eaten 6 hours ago and exercised to boot. And I had a very small ice cream cone (15 calorie cone, 75 calories of ice cream) for dessert. I finished the day at the high end of my calories and carbs, but within range.
Today has been a marvelous day. Our "big boss" called a meeting to talk about various current projects and at one point, he called me up to the front and specifically thanked me for the extra hours and all the hard work I've put into my job over the last month, and the fact that even though I deal with some very irate customers, I never lose my temper and I'm always patient and informative. They even gave me a small monetary bonus! And a lot of my coworkers have come up to me after the meeting to complement me themselves.
So, that felt pretty dang good. And the money doesn't hurt, either! More than anything, I feel recognized and validated today. I went back to eating well and working out and I received a good 4 lb weight loss in return. I put a lot of work into my job, and I received recognition for that today. It's a good day!
