this wagon ride is bumpy - where is my safety belt?!!
Friday, December 07, 2012
so I am trying to stay on that wagon - had a healthier breakfast and quickly visited a few groups and all my sparkfriends. I feel good. Gonna get dressed and get off my behind, clean up a few things and get a shopping list together (getting ready to make some things for holidays ... yes those evil goodies that I will not enjoy but give to others to haunt them ... insert evil laugh here ... muahahaha!
I have decided to make daily goals or short term goals.
My goal for today is to brave the rain and cool temperatures and walk the dog.
My next short term goal is to log in and check in with friends again tomorrow.
Wish me luck!

Thank you for your support. This is why I love this site :0)
@ MACANBEFIT - it was ok - cold, dark, damp but I did it. It is winter and I should be thankful there is no snow or ice yet. I figure it will arrive January/February and last till March/April. Can't wait to see if I am right or not lol.
@ SPUNKYDUCKY - I made the goal to eat veggies and drink water each day and have had a great day one! One girl at work even commented asking if I had enough water (I had three bottles on my desk at the time haha which over a 12 hour shift I drank about two).
@ AUTUMN_PRINCESS - I like the chalk outline idea. Right now I have this post it note thing going on in my bedroom. I figured it could wrap around as long as by the time I am done I have reached my goal and I am looking and most importantly feeling better :0)
bummer - you can't put a picture in a comment ... check out the blog I am about to do so you can see it. So funny, I have the pad of post its and the marker with my scale and measure tape LOL.

Welcome back - everyone who is on this journey long enough falls off the wagon from time to time. Give yourself some short term goals and give yourself credit even for the small positive changes that you make!

Its a good idea, the daily and short term goals. Its too hard to stick to a long term goal because the rewards are also long term. With short term goals you get rewarded soon, and helps you stick with it.
Also I wanted to tell you, give yourself some "tangible" milestones....draw a chalk outline of yoruself on the wall, then next month same thing right over it in a diff color. Over the months youwill see yourself "shrink".
Get a re-usable grocery bag, and every lb you lose, add a 16 ounce can to your bag so you can lift your lbs lost. Its really cool to see how much you have lost this way.
Take your measurements with a piece of yarn each month, then you will be able to SEE how much smaller your circumference is over time.
Take photos each month wearing the same clothes (or none) and in the same poses. These things help you stick with the plan. To me at least...
And don't let yourself get blue about the first ones, your body is your tool, your vehicle, and it is just in need of maintenance and tuning. Accept that and don't get upset by your initial "measures".
