accountability day 2

day 2, and a new toy arrives - a fitbit! though not until after the day's walk, which was delayed until after we first drove north to our favorite forest road in an (unsuccessful) attempt to take one more walk. the snows had melted and frozen so that it was fairly unpleasant walking, crunchy and LOUD. we quickly decided we'd be better off driving home and walking on bare road instead, and as soon as we headed back to the car, pelle the border collie took off to get there first, clearly appreciating the decision; i think the icy ridges must have been uncomfortable for his paws. we returned home, walked across the fields first, then up the road for what became 5.3 miles. another "walk around the big block" (two large fields) just before dark) and a short ST video rounded off the day. i had the fitbit for the last walk, which was fun to see - in just the few hours after it arrived, i managed to climb 7 floors, walk over a mile, and almost 2700 steps! this is going to be fun...

So happy for you getting your fitbit! I seriously looked at that as one of the techno-toys, before springing for the SmartPhone. Hope you like it and it Sparks you to even more health and fitness fun! emoticon

I love my fitbit and have had it a few months.
I too love to look at the end of the day to see how many steps I have taken. It has also helped me learn about my sleep pattern and that although I feel that I slept well some nights are not where I expect them to be. It is all about learning.
I have a friend who asked me for a cheep pedometer for Christmas as a gift. i think i am going to buy her the new Zip. I am sure it will be more useful than a cheep pedometer.
Keep pushing for higher numbers emoticon
