December Goals

I've really been slacking lately as I've mentioned before. There are 24 days left in this year and I'd like to finish this year out right. I've been eating WAY too much takeout. My weight is up and I'm bloated. I haven't been working out. It's just time to get my butt in gear, so I'm going to set some goals for myself. When I set goals and do weekly check-ins, then I am better at holding myself accountable and see much more progress.

1. Work out 60 minutes 4 times/week (once this week since it's almost over) for a total of 13 times this month.
2. Aim for 10,000 steps per day. I am very shy of this goal right now. Today I clocked fewer than 4,000 steps...yeah. I am planning to do at least 10 minutes of exercise on non-workout days, i.e. a brisk walk. Hopefully, between this and my 60 minute workouts I'll get closer to this goal.
3. I would like to get back into the 150's by the end of the month. I will weigh in every Friday to hold myself accountable. I will also track my food every day, so that I am giving myself the best chance to meet my goal.
4. Last, but not least, I'm doing the holiday Squat-A-Thon from Pinterest. pinterest.com/pin/109704

In addition to squats I'm planning to do pushups as well. So far this month I've done the squats, now to add in the pushups!

I think these goals are all very attainable. I need to ditch the takeout in my fridge...I do not have a healthy fridge right now. Tomorrow I'm going to get rid of the takeout, make myself a healthy breakfast, workout, have a protein shake and then go to the store to stock up on some healthy goods. My teeth are much better now, so no more excuses for not getting in enough veggies. I have slight sensitivity where I need to eventually get a root canal/crown, but the rest of my mouth is in great shape.

I will check in at least once a week to discuss my progress on the goals I set and I will end this year on the right note!

Ooh, one more thing. I had the interviews on Monday. I think they both went really well. It's incredibly competitive trying to get into this company, so fingers crossed I get one of these positions! Unfortunately I won't hear anything for some time. They said they hoped to make a decision before the holidays, although it may be a bit longer. Both positions have a start date of January 22nd, because that's when their training classes for these positions begin (it's a 4 1/2 month training process!!). At the very latest I will hear by January 8th, since they have to give anyone with a job the ability to give 2 weeks notice. I hope I get an offer sooner, cause then I can relax and enjoy the rest of my time off until January 22nd. It'd be great to finally have the stress off my shoulders and know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I'd actually be able to enjoy the rest of my time and focus on being healthy without the stress of searching for a job. Fingers crossed I get one of these jobs!

    Fingers crossed on the jobs- keep at it through the holidays. Every little healthy decision is one step closer instead of one step further from your goals!
