We had a busy day planned for today for the two of us. Breakfast, run a deposit to the bank for club renewals, get some groceries for my mom, mail something for hubby at the PO. Mom wanted me to balance her check book and help wash her hair. Plus I had an eye doctor appointment at 1pm. So we were on the move all day. I think I wore her out.
Here was the best part of the day. Mom wanted me to help wash her hair since she she has the cast on her wrist it makes hard to do. As we were driving back to her house, I suggested we stop at a local beauty shop and ask how much they would charge to just wash her hair. That would make it so much simpler with the sinks and hoses they have. The guy that was working there was all alone (very tiny place) and he was in the middle of doing a perm, and another person had just walked in with me for her appointment. He was going to call another person to see if they could come in, and I jokingly said I would be willing even to wash her hair. He said I could! Amazing. So I got mom from the car and settled her in the chair and leaning back in to the sink and shampooed her hair. She loved every minute of it.
And he wouldn't take anything but a thank you for payment. So nice and appreciated by both my mom and I. Made it so easy to wash her hair and she felt so good about having it done with no fuss and muss.
Went for a nice walk when Jim got home from work. Then got his oil changed for his car. We ate at Hardee's and tried the new Fish basket. Very good, but alot food with the onion rings we exchanged for french fries. Also came with coleslaw and a piece of toast. Next time our strategy will be to split one basket if we go that route.
Bummer- the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest we announced at work is canceled. Corporate didn't want to "offend" anyone with employees wearing "Christmas" items.
Pathetic. I just watched a news story on our local TV news about a teen in Wisconsin making big bucks selling ugly Christmas sweaters. Must be all those offended people buying them.
