I started the day off as usual, with my exercise and barely had time to finish before the repair man came. He got on the elliptical and immediately heard the squealing. He took the pedal attachment and arm off in one piece and proceeded to grease the post. He said they don't bother to do it at the factory, feeling the plastic bushings should be friction free enough. It was a quick fix and painless as it was still under warranty :) If it wasn't for the fact to get the arm off you had to undo a hand tightened knob, this would have been something I could have done. My hands are too weak to tighten or loosen anything -I curse at just getting child proof caps off things. But now I can show my step dad the quick fix for Mom's machine (we both bought the same one on a New Year's sale for half price.)
Then it was get down to business. I had to finish the reports. Its been frustrating as last year's reports are no where to be found and I have to compare how we did with last year. It meant redoing it again to get the stats up :( To add insult to injury I found errors in my basic data entry and had to fix them and retotal once again :( Data entry, math and my two fingered fumbling typing sure don't mix!! I am finally done the two major reports and now I have the summary to do. Then the printing -there is another frustrating job as I have had nothing but trouble with the paper feed on this new printer -double feeds, printing one page on two sheets, jamming, crooked, you name it this thing does it :( Its ink is the worst to change as you have to get a membrane off the ink well's business end -but it has no tab or pull thing to grab -I have to cut it then tweezer it off its so small :( I should have stuck with my regular brand as it was far more reliable and could print on just about anything without messing up.
I almost gave into snacking out of frustration, but managed to hold off. A quick trip to the grocery store provided my with my favorite sweet potatoes -which would go great with beet borscht soup with quinoa, cottage cheese, parsnips and peppers :) And for dessert the rhubarb stew Mom cooked up for me -yummy- worth waiting for and not spoiling by snacking.
Then I realized I needed a break and should get out and enjoy the first day of sunshine in eight days -and suited up for the -25 C (-14F) weather with windchills and grabbed my camera. I was rather late and the sun was already setting.
The path I made to get out of my building, a short cut to the mall:
Market Mall Mountains :P
Did you catch the top of the bus going by at the very top of the hill?
Unfortunately, their mountain collapsed over the sidewalk:
There is a sidewalk behind those mounds:
I went to this park with the biggest hill in my area:
Someone caught their hula hoop in this tree!
Very few trees in this park
View from the top of the hill -a great sliding hill, but no one out today except some hardy dog walkers.
lone set of tracks going down the back of the hill
Rink and school on the south side:
Boring as heck sunset to the west, you can see how much space this place has:
The good news is my article was published in the Express, a local newsmagazine for my city. It is a format hard to see -you go to the page, click on the current issue, and then flip tiny, tiny pages until you come to it, then you can expand it.
I am on page 15 of 27 opposite the fashion page :P To move pages you put your mouse on the side of a page and an arrow appears you can click on, then to expand the page you click in the middle . Dealing With Arthritis Leads To Weight Control is the title and my name is spelled wrong as usual -there is no e in my last name, its both o's! Here is the link:
The good news is my GI tract was perfectly normal today -woohoo! Finally! I guess eating more cooked and less raw veggies helped.
Have a good evening and sleep all!
