Finally, the weather broke and I saw the sunshine . . . and an opportunity to get out of the house and go for a ride. So, I suited up and took Lil Red (a CanAm Spyder) for a long awaited, much needed, well deserved ride.
The last time I had to pilot was before I started SparkPeople . . . . at least 16 pounds and a whole lot of fitness minutes ago! And though it may not sound like much, I could NOT believe the difference in the way I felt. [sidebar: since we sold hubby's bike a couple months ago, he's been riding mine on his daily commute when weather permits.]
SparkPeople BONUS! It's not just about losing weight! It's about being stronger, feeling better, which for me translates into doing stuff I couldn't do very well before!
So, I took every back road I could think of and then the long way home. It was wonderful and I really needed that!
Oh, and a quick chuckle: I'd stopped at a friend's shop to get some cute fabric to make dish towels. After I'd made my purchase and walked back out to the bike, I had just put the key in the ignition and was standing next to the bike in my riding gear, leather jacket and all, helmet in hand . . . and this guy walking past looks at me and says, shaking his head while pointing at Lil Red "No, you're not going to drive that thing!" To which I replied "Oh, no! I'm gonna push it home." Here's your sign!
