Fun Day!

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

Yes, this is my favorite way to spend money! It must be, because I keep on doing it.
Why have dentists got so many of us trained to meekly comply with the architecture of bridges, canals, and implants? My mouth must look like a map of Venice filled with watery lagoons and spaces. And it feels as if there might be a pigeon or two.

I've got tons of fun lined up this month with visits to the opthalmologist and other specialists. It's the blue light special; the black wednesdays, the 12 days of torment!
I can spin it, however, and say that I am still taking care of this moody, aging body.

I am hoping that the unadventurous, soft foods diet will give me a bit of a new kick-start with my weight-loss. When I recover I hope that I will have a genuine sense of gratitude for a normal, every day life that does not involve major excavations in my body.

You are a talented writer. I liked the way you handled the dental visits communication. Very creative.

It's great you are taking care of yourself. Dentists are no fun, but I go faithfully - 4x a yr as I have issues with gum disease, and by going I have stopped progression.

Hope you get to feeling better through it all.

Oh, my, that certainly all sounds unpleasant. I hope you are back on a regular diet soon! But I do applaud you looking for the positive in the situation.

So true. An old filling of mine fell out and the dentist decided the tooth needed a crown instead of a new filling. (It was a pretty big filling.) My part of the bill - after insurance - $450. Really made my month!

I can so relate. Dentists are much more expensive than doctors. The appointment makes me sick, the bill makes me sicker. LOL.

You have my sincere sympathy. I was given a little joke book with "You know you are middle-aged when..." cartoons, including "you know you are middle-aged when your dental bills become astronomical."

I squirmed when I read your feed about your dental work, but laughed when I read about your mouth looking like a map of Venice.

My dental appointment is on the 19th and I'm not looking forward to it. I saw my allergist yesterday and go to my GYN tomorrow. What's with us scheduling all these doctor appointments this month?!?!

I love the medieval picture you chose for this blog.

Best wishes for good reports from your other doctors.
