Stress Reading

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

Some people stress eat, I stress read. I have type one diabetes and I'm in a wheelchair. I know I should not stress eat because of type one diabetes. I think the main reason I do not is because I can not reach the food.

Sometimes there will be food where I can reach. Not just any food though ... m&ms! I try to ignore them calling me over but I cant resist. Once they are within reach I try to tell myself to only eat one, never works:( I end up eating for about five minutes and never remembering how much I ate.

For me the cure to stress eating is stress reading. Food still calls to me but food calls softer than the characters in my books. emoticon

I do the same as well, but it has a tendency to quickly get out of control (like stress eating!) by keeping me up until all hours to read "just one more chapter". Its certainly a lower-caloric activity than stress eating though, so I still sort of think its a good choice, as far as activities to overdose on when stressed. : P

What book are you reading now? I need a good book to read. I like Patricia Cornwell a lot, or atleast I liked her older books, I'm not as crazy about the new ones.
