Yesterday I wrote in my team’s chat thread that as the realization that it was the last day of BLC20 hit home, I felt a brief sense of sadness that the challenge has come to an end! On reflecting on why the sense of sadness(even though very brief), I know that it was my normal psyche reacting to impending changes … the closing of one chapter(now known) and the opening of another(unknown)! Anyways, Dr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." Right now I have a broad - ear to ear - smile on my face. The results below will show why!
At the beginning of the BLC20 12 week challenge, I set myself the following goals:
*** weight loss … 15 - 20 lbs;
*** a BMI of 36.6 or less; and
*** a Body fat % of less than 40% .
How did I do?
Weight: Initial weigh-in = 241.0 … Final weigh-in = 222.0 … Lost = 19 lbs
Inches: Total “all over body” inches Loss =17.0
BMI: Initial = 40.1 … Final = 36.9 … Lost = 3.2
Body Fat%: Initial % = 43.5%… Final % = 37.5% … Lost = 6%
Fitness Test Results: the numbers reflect an average of 165% increase in the numbers of Push Ups, Crunches and Squats I was able to do in the initial test.
Needless to say, I am very happy with these results and glad that I participated in BLC20 because it afforded me the opportunity to meet and interact with so many wonderful people especially Nestmates from the Golden Phoenix. You guys have been a tremendous force in helping me to stay focus and motivated towards achieving my goals. Thank you all.
