I joined SparkPeople in May 2011 and found out I was pregnant in June 2011. As a result, I had to halt all of my weight loss efforts. Long story very short, I went into preterm labor (3 months early) and had a premature baby by emergency C-section in December 2011. I had no issues during my pregnancy and exercised (gently) up until I went into early labor. The exercise kept the weight gain to a healthy range and aches and pains to a minimum. Due to the complications I had from the surgery, I was strongly advised by my doctor to not lift anything heavier than my baby and only gently exercise for 1 year. Of course, I tried to run/walk 8 weeks pospt-partum and that was a complete disaster. Painful on many levels including size 40H breasts and a severe drop in my milk supply

I have been on an exercise hiatus until now.
I have pumped and breastfed my son from birth until this month. My body basically belonged to him until now. I am happy and blessed that I was able to breastfeed him for so long but now it is time for me to reclaim my body. I am in the process of weaning him so that I can return to running and working out hard again. I completed Day 1 of Couch to 5K on Sunday (12/2/2012). It was hard and still painful due to the remaining milk and large breasts.
My Plan...
Yoga, walking, and workout DVDs will be my regimen until my breasts are dried up enough for me to run

The major part of my fitness lifestyle will be to adjust my diet. Since I am weaning my son, I need to reduce the amount of food I am eating and make healthier choices. Once my milk has dried up, I will re-start Couch to 5K
I am starting at 184 lbs. I have never weighed this much in my life. My goal is to change that in a healthy way that I can maintain for life. This is not about deprivation. It is about moderation and getting healthy
This blog will keep me honest and chronicle my weight loss journey. Hopefully you all will keep me honest too
