This is my first blog post. Yay.
I decided to join a gym back in Late september. Actually joined on October 5th, when I weighed 372 pounds. I was all gung-ho to go and lose this weight but I knew I would over-do it, and burn-out. So I started out going once a week for a week,then twice a week for a few weeks, then after 1 month of easing into it, I really jumped into it. I have been going 4 days a week (I go after work at 3:00am, and they are closed Friday to Sunday at that time).
Luckily, I have a perfect scenario working in my favor. I have a younger, obnoxious, sarcastic Gym-rat supervisor at work, who goes with meto the gym and has been teaching me there. We tend to push eachother during our workouts. I also have the daily motivation and tracking found here on Sparkpeople (HUGE HELP!!), and a loving family that wants me to live longer than "any day now..."
My routine has been watching my calories and carbs, a post work weight training program at the gym, and I recently added a 1/2 hour "at-home" cardio burn-in beore work. I have dropped 26 pounds so far from my previously 372 pound body, and I feel great.
Short term goals are to see 330 on the scale by Christmas and be under 300 by Tax day.
