60 day juice feast: post-feast thoughts

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

It is day 40 of my 60 day juice feast. I am feeling more and more healthy every day! I have lost 16lbs. All of my clothes are baggy and just right.

I recently just finished the book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Juicing. I am looking at my "post-fast" diet. How I will continue maintenance and moving forward. I know I still have 20 days to go, but humor me a little. I am a bit bored right now with all this juice and am moving on in my mind for a bit.

The Complete idiot's Guide to Juicing has several different types of fasts. From short 1 day a week fast, to 3 days, 7 days, etc. I am going to adapt a 1 day a week fast to my "post-fast" maintenance diet. This is a basic idea of what I am looking at:

Monday: raw foods and one cooked meal (limited or no meat or dairy)
Tuesday: raw foods all day (no meat or dairy)
Wednesday: Juice Juice Juice all day
Thursday: raw foods all day (no meat or dairy)
Friday: raw foods all day (no meat or dairy)
Erev Shabbat (Friday Night): starts a 2 day "normal eating" but not binging! I can eat challah bread or a sandwich, or some pasta, you get the idea. This continues till Sunday evening.
Monday starts the week again with raw foods and one cooked meal.

Well, this is on my mind today and keeping me from eating a cheeseburger, hehe.

I love that book - and it is a great way to move from here to there. I also like the intermittient fasting to ensure that your body adapts to the regime. I have enjoyed your blog. I have come to the conclusion that foos is an emotion and I need to get a handle on it - so off we go in the new year to feast hubby and I - he for 21 days, I am until - My doc suggested it and will monitor. Blessings to you!

I love those idiots guides. I am so glad you are planning what to do next. If you go completely back to your old eating habits, you would regain more and quicker. Following your next plan will be very important. Finding your safe nutritious maintenance way of eating will take a lot of thought. Ever read Primal Blueprint?
So, maybe you should think about changing the plan now to prevent losing more weight.
You have done such a fine job.
I think your juice looks delicious.
I have been privileged to find you blog and subscribe. I think I will hang around just to see how you are.
Hugs,
Dayle

    It sounds very good.
40 DAYS! Wow! 40 days and 16 pounds, what an accomplishment.
You have done such a fantastic job.
I have been doctoring lately and have been ill. I don't come here as much as I would like to (Sparks), but this afternoon I did and I am so glad. Your brightness shines off the page and with inspired hope, to know there is a plan out there that can not only heal, but help a person in so many ways.
I appreciate so much that you have shared this with us all. My continued blessings for even more success.
Hugs,
Erin
