I'm not sure what I did, but I'm feeling an uncomfortable amount of piriformis pain in my left glute. I know I wore an older pair of shoes for my treadmill run on Monday, so that could have contributed, but other than that, I have no clue what's brought this on. It takes me back to a year ago summer, when ITB issues and piriformis tightness landed me at the physical therapist's clinic. I hated not being able to run regularly while I got things back into shape, but I forced myself to take the time to heal. Hopefully, this time I've caught things before they got bad enough to need professional help.
So tonight's DVD workout will begin with the warm-ups and band workouts I did at PT, and we'll see if I can nip this thing in the bud. I'm counting on my cardio burn through the holidays to allow me to enjoy just a few Christmas sweets - still haven't caved in to the yearly egg-nog latte temptation, but I'm getting close!
