What a great day!!!!! I will kinda of give a background on the story so everyone understands. About 9 weeks ago I was doing speed training on the treadmill when it malfunctioned and stooped and it threw from the treadmill. I hurt my leg very badly which later I found out had a small tear in my hamstring. I could barley walk for a few weeks. I never realized how much running meant to me or defined me but I missed it so much. I kinda of became depressed and had a pitty party and stared to eat badly and put on weight which made me more upset with myself. but I would rest that leg for a week and give it a try and couldn't do it. every time I couldn't run I got very upset. I wanted it so bad. Then I did some reflecting and with the support of my wicked wife and my spark family I kinda of snapped out of it. I said I am going to rest that leg untill it is 100% better. While I am resting my leg I will do more ST and eat super healthy so that when I could run I wouldn't be super overweight!!!! Well all of last week my leg felt great but i gave it some more time to rest just in case. today was the big day it was -25 degrees C not sure what that is in Fahrenheit but it was cold but I didnt care it could have been -100 nothing was going to stop me. I got all my gear on and went out I ran 4 kms at a slower pace!!!! I felt so alive but man my cardio had dropped in 9 weeks lol. But I made it and without any pain or stopping. When I finished it felt like I completed my first half marathon!!!! I was so overjoyed and happy. But I learned some valuable lessons during this ordeal. first treadmills suck ass lol 2nd if I get injured again ok when I get inured again its not the end of the world. I have tons of support. When there is an injury work on different things in my healthy lifestyle. I am a runner and I missed it so much!!!!!!!
