Return to the basics. {Part of SP article with my added ingredient)

Second, Controlled portions,
third, smart substitutions and
Fouth, power foods (high protein, high complex carbs, low calories)
This is what make up a healthy, balanced diet.
Last but Special Ingredient (Rule)

...Move it, Exercise, workout, strength train, dance, vacuum with zest whatever it take to MOVE.
Standing still only burns calories if you are standing on one leg working your core.
