Fighting hunger

Well here it is about 9 pm and I am wanting to raid the fridge. So instead I will write a blog.

Been thinking a lot lately how blessed I have been in my life. Family that has always loved me and supported me and wonderful friend too.

There seems to be so many tragic things happening now days. I am especially thankful that God loves me and gives me purpose. emoticon

    Some days and times of the day just seem harder than others, don't they!
I put together a basket of "healthy" snacks that sits on my kitchen counter. It has things like Emerald Almonds in the 100 calorie pack, Sunsweet prunes in the 60 calorie pack, snack cups of diced fruits packed in water (Dole & DelMonte), fat-free and sugar-free pudding cups, snack cups of sugar-free applesauce - I'm always looking for new items to add. I also keep a bowl of apples, oranges, pears, and grapes on the top shelf of the fridge along with nonfat Greek yogurt (I love Chobani). The freezer usually has a couple pints of Artic Zero (157 calories per pint, fat free). When I've had at least 2 large glasses of water and still feel the need to eat I limit my choices to those. Having those choices readily available does help me with the evening nibbles because I know they healthy even if I do overindulge! (I do not keep 100 calorie cookie snacks or things like that because I would just eat all of them at once!)

    Great way to not raid the fridge! Drinking a glass of water can help too when you feel this way. PAXTONBLUE made a great point! Great way to evaluate whether you are really hungry or not. Remembering how blessed you are is always a good thing! emoticon

    Try a glass of water. Once you complete the entire class wait an hour. If you are still feeling hunger pains you may actually be hungry. Then you can choose a safe snacking option.
