Fertility Blog Day #1

My naturopath wants me to blog about my food and TTC efforts, so I thought SP would be the place for that!

Recent diagnoses (all of which involve difficulty conceiving): very high TSH, low AMH (I'm running out of eggs), Compound MTFHR mutation, insufficient Vitamin D (in the toilet, per the doctor). Waiting on FSH results. Doing estrogen, progesterone, etc. this cycle.

Summary diagnoses: delayed ovulation, short luteal phase, premature ovarian failure, hypothyroid, compound MTFHR (clotting disorder). Still waiting to see if rest of tests add to my list :/

Meds: maca root, vitamin D, methylated folate (5mtf), methyl-protect, Chinese herbs, cod liver oil, prenatal, aspirin 81 mg daily.

Other treatments: weekly acupuncture

My naturopath wants me on an anti-inflammatory diet for fertility and to log how everything I eat makes me feel. If it causes bloating, fatigue, irritation, etc - I can't have that food anymore.

Breakfast - cheese bagel with cream cheese and a green tea with honey. Surprisingly, the bagel (not on my approved list of food) digested well and I didn't feel sleepy at all. Historically, though, carbs are no good for me, so maybe I can have a bagel on the go, but not just sitting around at home. The green tea and honey has been a great replacement for the lattes and I don't even miss the coffee!

Lunch - turkey defrosted from thanksgiving and a small serving of instant mashed potatoes (no added milk, bitter, etc...just water). Overall good feelings - not happy with the mashed potatoes. Fortunately, I didn't like them. It did not bring on a binge. This day has been good so far and not typical of a carb-filled day. I'm not sure why this is so,

Dinner - a roast with carrots, onions, garlic a and a small amount of yams. Haven't eaten yet, so not sure! I'll edit the post later.

Snacks - sunflower seeds :) yum! In the shell, they keep me busy and a small amount goes a long way.

Exercise: not much, but I took the dogs for a walk. I need to get some good boots so I can take them out by the river trails.

Overall feeling good today, but I did have acupuncture and she always leaves ,e feeling calm and happy! I'll take it!

    Very interesting blog. We don't have naturopaths here. Wish we did.

I was surprised about the bagel but I'm wheat tolerant and sometime I can handle one fo some reason. I agree with you and think it may be the level of activity after eating them.

I agree with you about the instant potatoes. Ugh. LOL.

My doctor has suggested an anti-inflammatory diet before but said no nightshades which would include potatoes. I don't eat a lot of nightshades really other than paprika.
