December Goals

A new month is here and I need to sit down and makes some goals. Goals will be harder to keep this time of year because of seasonal depression and all the treats in the stores. This is my birthday month and I want to treat myself in some way every day. In the past it was with food treats of some kind. A candy bar here, a cookie there maybe a little slice or two of pie, No No not this year.

I started out this month by treating myself to a nice long walk through the neighborhood. I looked at all the leaves falling. I even kicked a pile of leaves that was on the side walk. Now this is what I call fun. Just to act like a kid every now and then, and forget that I am going to be 56 at the end of this month.

Now then on to my goals for this month.

1. Being binge free for 21 days. I tried this last month and made it to 14 days. I am going to do the 21 days this month, or at least try.

2. Lose 4 pounds, that will take me down to 170. I am really trying to lose 5 pounds a month but thought I would give myself a break and see if 4 is what I do.

3. Eat 5 vegetables and fruit a day. I have been eating 4 so I am going to add one more. I think I can do this by adding soup to dinner. Right now I eat a salad and two vegetables, and for desert I have some fruit.

Okay that should do it for this month see you next month if not sooner.

    I have read that soup helps in weight loss. I enjoy a good bowl every now and then. One thing I find that works is just doing better the next month. Like you did 14 days,aim at 21 but be happy with 17. then do more till it becomes easier. Try to really nail your 4 pounds early in the month,later will be harder. If you binge later,you will be that much closer to your loss of 4 pounds. Good luck to you.

    It is fun to be a kid! A few weeks ago the boys and I were doing yard work. I had a pretty big pile all raked and ready to go into the yard waste bag. My youngest decided that it was a good pile to jump in! He had never done this before. He just was playing and flailing around in the leaves. My other son and I buried him in the leaves just leaving his face visible! He laughed and laughed! It was so funny. Yah he messed up the pile but it was a priceless memory that I will have forever! It is good to feel like a kid again no matter how old you are!

Your December goals are very doable! 14 days of binge free is awesome! You should be very proud of that! I know you can do it all of it! You are truly a great friend and inspiration!

for breakfast, almost every day, i have yogurt or cottage cheese, and two servings of fruit. it meets that requirement for the day. i usually have two servings of veggies with both lunch and dinner, and one or two servings of veggies as a snack. i worked my way up to that, and have maintained it for months. now i feel sooooo deprived if i don't get at least 7 servings of fruits & veggies.
the winter months are hard....in just a couple of weeks, the days will be getting longer! hang in there. hope you find non-caloric treats. do you enjoy flowers? buy a bouquet for each week your binge-free.

    Good goals! I find that if I get all those fruits and veggies in, I don't crave so much junk. So maybe your goal of eating one more each day will help to keep you binge free. emoticon emoticon
