Tri Training Update

Today I swam for 45 minutes. It is getting much easier to swim now. I'm trying to work on my form, but it is so hard by myself. I'm wondering if I need a coach. I don't want to spend any money on that, so I guess I will just have to muddle through.

I rode for 30 minutes today, did 8 miles. Not too bad. After the 1st of the year, I am going to look around for an appropriate road bike. I'm hoping I can purchase a decent bike, but again, I do NOT want to spend a lot of money.

The indoor triathlon is looming closer, and I don't feel like I am making any headway. Although I did run 3 miles in 32 minutes yesterday, so that is good. I really need to organize my workouts, so that I incorporate more speed training into swimming and running. Right now, I'm just winging the workouts. I need to put more thought an preparation into this if I want to improve.

Of course, I am currently in rehearsals for Barefoot In The Park. I decided to say yes to an assistant stage manager role for the theatre. I'm preoccupied with the play, maintaining the house, Christmas shopping, and keeping a seven year old on track. So it should be no surprise that I'm not really organized with my training. Whim training is what I call my style. Time will tell if this pays off. At least the Sprint Tri is not until August.

    I think you're doing great to maintain your training schedule with everything else you have going on right now. And even your whim training is helping you get stronger and faster even if it doesn't feel like focused training to you right now.
