A SparkWobble (SW) is what you have when you don't track for a few days and don't strictly speaking stay within calories. That should actually be 'strictly speaking', strictly speaking. In other words a little bingette.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've had a two-week SW and have managed to clamber back on the wagon a couple of days and fallen off a couple of days and climbed back on it again today. At the weekend, I analysed a bit the reasons for the SW. So far as I can see the main one is that I was concerned I wasn't losing any weight (ref howls over the scales in Boots in previous blogs, I do not actually KNOW how much I weigh) so I cut my calories a bit, making my lower end my top end (about 1400) and my lower end 1200. I had not been having much difficulty keeping to about 1500 and so I expected this to be fairly easy.

Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. I found myself going over calories hugely every day and feeling hungry all the time.

Is this psychological? No idea. But on Sunday I asked SP to reset my calories and the bottom end of the range is 1,450 and today I'm well on track to stay under that.

Moral of story: SP knows best.

A couple of weeks SW is MUCH better than a couple of months.

We all have our moments, and sometimes a sparkwobble is needed to reinforce our mental faculties and to reset our metabolisms. Don't beat yourself up, you see it, you can fix it. emoticon

I like 'sparkwobble'! I find though, that when exercising, if I eat higher in my calorie range, I lose better.

Glad to hear that you are off the SW. Tracking if very important. I am still doing it after five years of weight maintenance. WOW I have been on SparkPeople for over five years.

Feeling actual hunger is physiological. Go eat, but eat wisely. Protein and fat satisfy your hunger, carbs only satisfy your appetite.

I like that word. It sounds a lot friendlier than binge or even mini binge. What would you call it when you just don't exercise?

I like it - SparkWobble - where one takes leave of their senses and gobbles too much... Reminds me a little of the old song "give me two steps ... " don't know the rest of the lyrics...but I think some of the song has to do with getting to the door, hitting the floor...presumably about drinking too much booze, but I can see how eating too much and not getting outside enough for a good walkabout could be re-worked into it. Wish I could remember the band - one of those Southern Rock bands like .38 Special or Lynyrd Skynyrd etc...

Off to wobble over to the Y myself now.

Later ...

I think this is a great time of the year for Sws. I've been goig through this for a month now and can attribute it to 1. Beind sick and "needing" those extra calories and 2. "The holidays" I realize now that I have been a fool and will have to work twice as hard to make my goals. I am not excusing myself just explaining. emoticon

You're doing great even with wobbles, but don't eat too little - I found out the hard way - you don't lose weight - your body starts saying "You're starving me....You're starving me....I'm going into starvation mode and slowing down everything." Anyway, keep on keeping on - one step at a time.

I can picture me as a wobble doll doing the Spark Wobble! Yup, that is where I've been also the last 2 weeks. Having trouble tracking and exercising.....the 2 things that keep me balanced and not "wobbling"!!!! lol emoticon Thanks for coining a new Spark term!!! You're great!
