SparkWobble

A SparkWobble (SW) is what you have when you don't track for a few days and don't strictly speaking stay within calories. That should actually be 'strictly speaking', strictly speaking. In other words a little bingette.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've had a two-week SW and have managed to clamber back on the wagon a couple of days and fallen off a couple of days and climbed back on it again today. At the weekend, I analysed a bit the reasons for the SW. So far as I can see the main one is that I was concerned I wasn't losing any weight (ref howls over the scales in Boots in previous blogs, I do not actually KNOW how much I weigh) so I cut my calories a bit, making my lower end my top end (about 1400) and my lower end 1200. I had not been having much difficulty keeping to about 1500 and so I expected this to be fairly easy.

Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. I found myself going over calories hugely every day and feeling hungry all the time.

Is this psychological? No idea. But on Sunday I asked SP to reset my calories and the bottom end of the range is 1,450 and today I'm well on track to stay under that.

Moral of story: SP knows best.

Oh I have had a few SWsi usually catch myself in a day or so and get back on track. I stay at 1200 calories a day. If I eat more than that I gain. If I ate as much as SP had me eating I would still be obese. Different bodies respond different to the amount of calories.
I wish you the best.
This is a rough time for many of us "Food Addicts"..So much food being offered, it's a struggle.
Be strong, stay positive.

Don't feel bad: this happens to everyone! I like to view it not as falling off the wagon, but as riding a bicycle. That wagon keeps going on without you, but the bike waits for you to get back on and ride emoticon

Have been going through the SW for a few days. Have tracked my food, but not staying within my calorie range. Headed back to it tomorrow (I hope). This is a bad time of year. emoticon

Been in a bit of SW myself. Went to the craft show and they had too many goodies that ... well I got them. Oh yeah - I got 'em... here and there and here and there (meaning stomach, hips, arms, bottom, etc)

I like that term! It helps describe it without making you feel like a total failure. I have been having a Spark Wobble for the last 2 weeks and I gained 2.8 pounds! But today I recommitted myself to all of the little stuff that adds up, as well as making better food choices and tracking every bite! Thanks for sharing your term and your struggle.

I have a weekend wobble. I do a pretty good job measuring my intake M-F then SS I don't take the tim and come monday I'm sitting at the computer going..now what did I eat on Saturday for breakfast....

I think the odds are pretty good that those "wobble" days are not good calorie days.

Glad you're off your wobble! Thanks for sharing this. It's so encouraging to know that it's not just me doing the bingette thing!

Still, without SP we'd probably all be doing be doing more than falling off the wagon... we'd be running down the road (no, walking slowly, huffing and puffing down the road!) about a mile behind the wagon just wishing we could even catch up with it!
