I'm working on a blog recapping my races this year, but with just four weeks left of 2012 I'm looking forward to 2013! Here's what I've got planned so far. (The events with the asterisk are the races I'm specifically training for.)
*Hawkeye 25K trail run - March 2
I did this run last year and didn't really know what I was getting into. This time I'll have a better idea of the route so I can pace myself better at the beginning, and even better I have a goal time to chase for a new PR!
*Bluff Creek Olympic Triathlon - May 19-ish
My second Olympic-distance triathlon. My goal is to improve my bike time, and it will be my first triathlon with a wet suit, so hopefully that won't throw me off!
Dam to Dam 20K - June 1
My parents and sister have done this race, though in different years, and this was my first 5K back in 2009, so why not do races three of the five weekends in June?
Holiday Like Spring Triathlon - June 8
A different sprint triathlon, shaking things up a bit
Quad Cities Sprint Triathlon - June 16
Fourth time doing this triathlon, because it's fun and I've had a PR each year
Bix 7 - July 27
Another annual tradition. Last year I took off about 10 minutes, can I do it again this year?
*Pigman Long Triathlon - August 18
My next step in my Ironman training - the long/half Ironman distance. This is tough course because of the hills and lack of shade, but it's close to home and at least I know what half of the course is like since I did the Olympic distance this year.
Park to Park Half Marathon - September 7-ish
Gonna try to break that elusive 2 hour mark!
5 Sullivans 10K - November 2-ish
Another fun run to break up my marathon training
*Madison Marathon - November 10
My second marathon. Hopefully I'll be able to break 4:30 or even get close to 4:00!
And even though it's not a race in 2013...
*Goofy's Challenge - January 2014
A half marathon on Saturday and a full marathon on Sunday at the happiest place on earth, what could be more fun?
