I love doing photo cards at Christmas time. It has been a yearly tradition of me taking pictures of the kids and then pasting it into a card to send out to our family and friends. I have done team spirit cards, family cards, etc... Every year I try to think of someplace new for the picture to be taken.
So I had my hubby download some geocaches and I grabbed my camera and we were off. I had to warn the kids while we were in the car to cooperate with me. Sometimes I get picky and it takes a while to get the perfect shot. They agreed... thankfully!
We planned on finding a few caches while we were out so that gave me plenty of opportunities to find the perfect picture spot. Right away I spotted some nice pine trees and I took a few pictures there....
But I kept my eye open for another great spot.
We went on hiking and finding a few caches. After a good couple of miles we decided we would try the other side of the park and also stop in the restrooms. I had to go.... something about cold weather and a full bladder is not very pleasant.
So I run to the restroom (a newly built building too) and walk into what I thought was the ladies room. I go to find a stall and notice a urinal. Hmmmm.....! I turn out and look at the sign on the door and notice the Mens with the man sign. Oh gosh! I just went into the mens bathroom. THANK GOD no one was in there. I continued onto the ladies room snickering at myself. What a goof ball!
We head over to the other side of the park and I find the perfect spot! Up on top of a small hill are pine trees nestled together. I tell the kids we are heading over there before the hiking to do a photo shoot. What the perfect place it was! Check out the photos I took....
The pictures turned out great and now I have some great ones for the Christmas cards.
Having taking those made me feel less stressed and ready to finish up our hiking. We ended up going another good mile and during that mile we saw lots of trail riders who let us pet their horses. I love horses!
All in all it was a great Sunday. Perfect weather for hiking and taking pics! Hope you enjoyed reading about our adventure!
