Happy with today!

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

So far, it has been a productive and positive day! Not too many days can I say that at only 10:30am.

I got up and did my calisthenics workout. It was awesome. And hard. And I really didn't want to this morning. I was a little scared because my breathing still is not great and I didn't want to get worse, but I also really didn't want to get derailed this early in the game. So, I did it.

I had a scheduled re-check with the doctor this morning about my bronchitis. My infection is gone, according to my WBC count. They did a chest x-ray and it looked good. It will be read by the radiologist this afternoon for a final verdict. So now I am just dealing with a bunch of head congestion which they gave me antihistamines and decongestants for. Yay! I go back for a check next week to see how everything is going...till then, definitely on the calisthenics and we'll just take walk/running one day at a time.

Amazingly, through this sickness I have been able to stick to my eating plan. Even with exams at school! It is usually about this time that I start to feel like I need to start "taking care of me", which in the past definitely meant bingeing on high carb/ high sugar snacks. Being honest and accountable on here is really helping me short circuit that kind of thinking. So far, I have not given in and I don't plan to today.

I had decided not to weigh this past Sunday since I have been on Prednisone, but I was getting curious. The nurse did a half hearted weight check on me this morning without really letting the scale stabilize. It looks like I have lost, but I will wait until this Sunday and weigh on the same scale I've been using for tracking before I post anything.

I hope you all are doing what you can today to make healthy choices for yourselves!
