Day 3 of my smoothie cleanse and I am down another 3 pounds from yesterday. I just realized that from the day they weighed me in the hospital, hours before my daughter was born, I am down 104 pounds. Of course, I had a 7.8 pound baby in my belly and then there was the amniotic fluid but if you think about it - 20 months ago I was walking around with that much weight on me. Walking was hard then! Walking is so easy now!
I know a lot of it is water weight - I know because I peed like a racehorse yesterday (pardon my language). But that's OK. It's water that shouldn't have been there in the first place and it's what a cleanse is supposed to get rid off. I am drinking much more water than I normally drink, so I know I am not getting dehydrated.
I am feeling better today too. It's the first day I am not feeling nauseous. Knock on wood it stays that way. The nauseousness wasn't caused by the cleanse - it started two days before I started the cleanse.
The hardest thing yesterday was, when I made my daughter mac and cheese for lunch. I put some avocado in it too (my daughter is very, very active and on the skinny side so avocado in her mac and cheese is an OK addition). It was not box mac and cheese either, it was a four cheese, creamy, white mac and cheese. It looked and smelled so good. And as she does, she only ate a few spoonfuls and left me with a pile of cheese-carby-goodness. I didn't eat it. I think having these very strict rules and a time-frame on it helps.
The hunger has been better yesterday. I snacked a lot on celery and grape tomatoes and a handful of nuts. I think it will get easier every day.
