Still not sure

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

I am still in the process of finding at what weight I should maintain. I used to be able to maintain a weight for long periods of time, even when I had a few days off the wagon. Now it seems that just one day of eating extra or missing a work out can mean extra weight at the end of the week. At 5' 4" I feel real good at 160 to 164 but this is considered overweight. Who are these weight Nazi's anyway?

I agree about talking to your doc. Those weight goals are generalized from health outcomes. We are all different. I, too, am 5'4", but I am way too small boned to carry much more than 110. Your doc knows YOU so that would be the opinion that counts.

Forget about the proverbial weight nazis (appropriate term, by the way). If you feel comfortable and healthy and happy at this weight then make that your goal. Talk to your doctor - my doc is very loosey, goosey about the goofy weight/height charts. I am one of those big boned people and if I weighed what the charts say I should I'd be too thin and not healthy. At the end of the day, you have to answer to yourself for your health, no one else. Be happy, Pat emoticon
