BAD day...

I'm really hoping I can turn this day round! I had a bad weigh in this morning as I was expecting to have lost a little and it was still the same. And I've been working so hard!!! It made me really grumpy.

I am kicking myself for not doing my measurements when I started this as I do believe my thighs are slightly smaller and that my fitness levels are up and having the actual figures to prove it would really make me feel a whole lot better.

This is the point when many fall of the wagon as they think their efforts have been futile but I know I just need to crack on and try harder.

I managed to get my son to school on time despite getting up late (again!) and took my little girl for a walk to feed the swans and ducks which was nice. Although then I pulled a muscle in my leg and had to hobble all the way back and the wind picked up blowing my hat off to reveal my half-dyed flourescent yellow hair! And then I was so determined to update my SP page that I forgot to take off my boots and have just smeared a massive muddy mess all over my favourite rug! Haaaa. Good times...

  I weigh myself once a month yet I take measurements twice a week. Going by how my clothes fit is a better tracking method for me.

Now one thing to remember is that the idea is to lose FAT as opposed to WEIGHT. They are two very different things. It takes a long time to change your body composition. Hey if you went by my BMI (WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER DO) I would be obese at my weight. Yet I do Ironman Triathlons......I am very muscular and I don't really lose tons of weight but since I started my journey after a very bad sports injury, I have lost 25 inches all over. That works for me.

Don't be hard on yourself --- the important measurement is your waist to hip ratio.....there are some good articles here on Spark people which explain how to measure that and what range is good

    Hey there and good morning - well, it's afternoon there, right?, well anyway.... good day to you!

Saw your post about being frustrated about your weigh-in this morning. Been there. I wrote a post about this topic last night actually. If you're interested, you can read it over at my blog (Ups and Downs is the title). Not trying to spam your blog with that, just wanted to mention it.

It can be frustrating when the scale doesn't reflect the hard work we're putting in. I've been at the same weight for 3 days. "Logic" would say I'd be down more but of course it isn't just simple math. There's a bit of science involved too.

My encouragement to you is to trust the process will work. It takes time.
