Dieting in secret from now on...

Monday, December 03, 2012

Tonight's menu is below. Tonight mom and I went to my employee Christmas party at Cracker Barrel and I did NOT have a good time at all.

There is one woman there that I work with and know all too well. She is one of these snoop type people that would go and tell mom if I said or did anything out of the ordinary. And what's worse is she has before, and for minor stuff too.

Like I remember when I first started that I had wanted a sweatshirt of ohio state and I had her hold it for me until I was off the clock and could pay for it...perfectly within my rights as she works in the retail store.

Anyway she goes on a HUGE tirade about me wanting this sweatshirt to mom and makes me out to be a bad guy and I did nothing wrong as I just wanted a sweatshirt held and wrapped until I could pay for it.

Then we see her again tonight and she goes on and on about how mom's leg has been or that she had to work all day and then she jumps up anytime mom wanted anything to eat.

As if I could not have gotten mom food.

Also I will NEVER AGAIN say I am on a diet to this woman. She just kept saying that I should have eaten more tonight.

I did very well I thought as I had a small slice of meatloaf, some chicken, a salad and then a small 3 point dry mix regular brownie.

And after I drink a fat free milk I will still have 6 points plus left as the rest of my day is below...

Breakfast: Special K chocolate delight cereal, fat free milk with an apple and a clementine

Lunch: Turkey breast lunch meat on low calorie wheat bread (2 slices) and a small salad with fat free french dressing

I work with a nosy lady too that has a memory of an elephant... A lethal combination, in my book! I just limit my exposure to her and try to let her actions roll off my back. Granted, it took me a few years to learn how. You can do it too! You will be happier at work when age stops affecting you!

I agree with all of the above-stay above the fray, she'll get tired of trying your patience when she learns that you're above that kind of nonsense!

Don't tell that woman anything!! She is too much in your business. Hope your mom feels better soon.

That woman sounds horrid! Don't let her get to you.

if you can't ignore this woman, try anyway. nothing will piss her off more than if you don't react to her nastiness. if she does say or do something that demands a response from you, be nice, smile, compliment and thank her. as i tell my daughter when she has a bully in her life: don't engage. you'll only look stupid.

People, like the lady you describe. are everywhere in life. You cannot change people. The only thing you can change is your attitude which means that instead of letting her drive you crazy just accept her for what she is, a person with problems who might not even know she has problems.
By allowing her actions to upset you, you are giving her power over you; she is renting space in your head. Another approach is to thank her for getting food for your mom and you appreciate her concern about your eating but you are an adult and have taken the time to educate yourself on good food choices. You would be happy to help her if she would like to lose weight (Is she overweight? I hope so because then you can refer her to SparkPeople).
Enjoy your life and let those people go about living theirs.
