More cooking!

This evening I still had half a pound of ground beef and a head of cabbage, so I found a "Cabbage and beef stir fry" recipe here on SP and modified it.

To be honest, I really never thought of a head of regular cabbage as a stir fry veggie, but it's great because it cooks up fast. I wonder what it would look like with red cabbage?

Here's my version:

It turned out to be quite tasty. My family (who don't eat spicy foods) thought it was perfect, and I thought it was a little bland; I like my food a bit more adventuresome than they do. However, the combination of meat and veggies is a really versatile base for experimentation with various kinds of stir fry sauces. Planning to try this with teriyaki or peanut sauce.

    Cabbage is a great weight loss assisting food! I went on "The Cabbage Soup diet" a few years back and lost weight and felt great the whole time. (Of course the cabbage soup diet was never intended to be a lifestyle change, so as soon as I quit doing it, the weight slowly came back). Anyway, I don't know what cabbage has in it that makes it such a good diet food, but it really works! Nice pic btw. I love looking at food! emoticon
