Days 31, 30, 29 & 28 'til 2013 - Scrapping and Stuff

Monday, December 03, 2012

Okay this time I know why I didn't post for several days. The scrapbooking weekend went very well and my food was good except Saturday night I had a little candy and a piece of Pumpkin Cheesecake. I came home feeling really good about how I had done. I wasn't really tempted by all the treats and desserts nearly as much as in the past.

On the downside, I came home and the afternoon/evening on Sunday went pretty crappy. We tried to go to a Christmas tree lot where they do the whole experience with horse drawn wagon and hot cocoa. Long story short...we spent over 1.5 hours looking for the place and NEVER found it even after stopping for directions 2-3 times. DH had a headache to start with and it just wasn't pretty. We were so hungry by the time we decided to just pick up a tree at the grocery store that we went in and grabbed some frozen foods to make at home for supper. Then I ended up making cookie bars for DD and I had a few of those. So Sunday supper wasn't great food-wise.

I got a nice amount of work done on my scrapbooks though and they had a cancellation at the retreat center where we were, so we are going back in mid-January which means I may actual make some progress toward catching up. I am currently working on 2008 pictures.

Don't feel bad about the scrapbooking... take the time to do them the way you want them done. I rushed through a couple a few years back and I regret it every time I pull them out for whatever reason. I needed to have them done by a certain time for our immigration interview when we moved down from Canada to prove our established marriage wasn't just one for immigration / convenience, but I want to do them over again and tell more stories.

As for your food trials, give yourself some grace, but remember that it takes 72 hours from the poor choice to get your hormones to settle down again, so you may struggle more in the next few days with cravings for more of the stuff you regret. It helped me to know that when I was really frustrated after thanksgiving!
