I had just hit goal weight last week and then TOM started and brought with it the usual monthly ravenous appetite!
I kept up the two brisk walks on breaks at work each day last week. I forced myself to do two cardio spark people videos one night. I thought my body was going to kill me!
I had a Mexican dinner night with friends Friday night. I overdid it so when I got home at 8:30, instead of comfy clothes and the remote, I started a load of laundry, running up and down the stairs. I ran around the house straightening up till the laundry was done. I think I was falling asleep as I crawled into bed!
Saturday morning, I took the dog for a walk, then headed to the gym for my second session with a trainer. She put me through a few upper body weight machines for an hour. I thought "really I'm paying for this, I could do this myself."
Oh nay nay! No way would I make myself do bicep curls with the machine set to 30lbs!!! While my arms were trembling on the 3rd set and tears welled up in my eyes, I pictured people on The Biggest Loser and told myself this is worth it!
I had another dinner out with friends Saturday night so I got on the elliptical for 20 minutes, upping the usual intensity before I went out. I couldn't resist the chicken panini with a side of about 20-some tater tots!
When I got home about 9:00, I popped on a playlist with dance music and danced myself silly for 20 minutes! It's good hubby was working, he may have thought I was having an epileptic fit!
Sunday morning, I went for a 3 mile run and took less walking breaks than I did last week. I was jazzed. I got home thoroughly spent and completely soaked but my lab was anxiously waiting for a walk so I put on some dry clothes and got that done.
Sunday afternoon, my son met me for lunch and a little Christmas shopping. I had a turkey unwich at Jimmy John's before we hit several stores and more walking.
So lesson learned, I must keep moving several times a day to be successful. A body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest stays at rest!
And as The Baha Men sang... let your body move to the rhythm!
