Day 7: Monday, December 3, 2012
Today was an exciting day. My first weigh-in since joining the IP program. I'm ecstatic to say I've lost 8.6 lbs! Lots more to go, but one day/1 lb at a time and it will come off. I was also super happy to buy some new foods. As I stated earlier, the center gave me a variety to eat in my first week. Unfortunately, I didn't care for about 10 of the packets. I did try a few, but some I couldn't manage to even attempt. So I got foods that I will actually eat and some IP snacks as well.
I had a feeling I was "doing" the diet somewhat wrong in the fact that sometimes I was counting my salad as my 2 veggies. And I was correct. My coach gave me some ideas for vegetables which do not taste as "vegetabley" and some ways to prepare them, so when I go to the grocery, I'll pick some of them up and give it a try. I had never tried cauliflower before and figured I wouldn't like it, but I had a bag of frozen broccoli/cauliflower combo, so I steamed some and added it to my broc/chz soup at lunch. I didn't mind it at all. So I'm definitely going to learn something from this journey.
Then when I got home, I went to the IP Dashboard to copy my stats of body and lean mass and hydration, and I see that my coach had put my weight in wrong. The way she did it it showed only 2 lbs, not 8lbs. I called her and told her and she said she was sorry, that she probably was looking at the numbers wrong when she entered it in, but once it was in, she could not change it! What kind of computer system/program won't allow you to correct a mistake. She said the only thing she can do is that when I come next week, she can delete it. I was disappointed. I wanted to see that # on my dashboard, but it was a human error.
Tonight, I go for my sleep study and hopefully I will find out why I am tired all the time. From stuff I read on SP, I should be feeling more energetic by now from the bad carbs being out of my system. I have been sleeping (pretty regularly, anyway), with my CPAP machine, but am still always tired, so the Dr said we'll do another study. So off I go pretty soon with my snack IP and supplements and hopefully will have some answers soon!
