Wheat Belly Diet

Monday, December 03, 2012

I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a book "Wheat Belly" by Dr. Williams Davis, a cardiologist? I'm watching The Dr. Oz show today and it was interesting. Check the show out if you can, tell me what you think.

I am going to start a 30 day wheat free/gluten free diet starting tomorrow 2/04/2013. If you would like to do this with me....add me and we can motivate together. If you have already started....I would love to know how you are doing.

My sister sent me the Wheat Belly book and it makes a lot of sense. I'm going to read the person's link above that contains the opposing viewpoint. My sister went GF and has lost 90 pounds. She has exercised consistently, but mostly walking. Her primary change has been the gluten-free nutrition. My parents have also both gone gluten-free and have seen dramatic health changes in regards to IBS, and symptoms of auto-immune disease. In general, they feel all around better. When I went GF, I found that the first time I ate bread again, my stomach went into strong cramping. It was very unpleasant.

I too watched that episode on Doctor Oz and it really intrigued me. I am going to try the wheat belly diet and see if it helps with any of my pains and stomach issues, as well as my weight issues!

    Yes, I have the book.
I have read the entire book.
I have been Gluten Free (Wheat Free) for 142 Days.
My Chiropractor suggested I try living Gluten Free for my blood Pressure and to help with weight loss.
I can't really tell GF has made a big difference. My Chiropractor told me I might take months. I am going to give it true test.
I have lost 18 pounds since I became GF. (July 12.)

It's a stretch and paint me skeptical. There is no magic bullet. Here is a reasonably sound opposing viewpoint.

Do your own homework, figure out what works for you.
