Plan for the BLC break:
One of my favorite reality shows is “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” I
Dr. Drew – don’t know why, but I just do ;-) !! One of the big issues that come up at the end of the rehab session is “what is your plan” for the end of rehab. The staff pushes all the patients to move into a sober living facility, and are usually met with a lot of resistance. After all, the patients have worked hard on sobriety, have had to follow the strict rules of the rehab center, and generally want their freedom back. Dr. Drew stresses that “wanting to do things your way” is what caused them to get into trouble, and stresses the need for structure and support. Well…I’ve enrolled in the Sapphire BLC version of a sober living facility referred to as the Furlough Group! During the break we won’t have a break. If anything, it seems that there will be MORE structure, and I need this. I’ve also signed up for an 8K (5 mile) race the first weekend in January, and this requires me to train for it.
My inner-brat wants to eat and drink with abandon and nominally exercise when it is convenient through this holiday season. However, there is that still small voice whispering that the good feelings that come from indulging my inner brat will be quickly replaced with the terrible feeling of being sent two steps back if I start 2013 regaining weight and losing fitness. SO-NOT-WORTH-IT.
