59 lbs. LOST and The "Sandy" Storm!!!

Monday, December 03, 2012

I was going to wait and blog when I lose the magical 60 pounds, but I said to myself - NO I AM GOING TO CELEBRATE 59 LBS. GONE. Yup kicked to the curb and gone. I am determined to keep putting one foot in front of the other and release this weight. I feel great and motivated every day. Some days are struggles but that is life.

We were hit hard with the storm "Sandy". It was a very scary and violent storm. The winds were wicked. I heard the trees just swaying in the wind which made me really scared. I could not sleep until I heard the wind subside. We had no power or land lines for 13 days and 4 hours. Trees were blocking our driveway which we cleared right away. People lost their homes, cars and some lost their lives. We were very fortunate. We had a generator and when I wanted to do laundry we had two generators going. I used a clothesline to dry our clothes!!! I felt like we were truly in survival mode.

I waited a week to get groceries and found the store EMPTY. Never in my 48 years of life have I seen a store empty. That was really scary.

I was even pushed for a 1/2 gallon of milk. A man came from behind me and pushed me aside so that he could get his milk. I looked at him in shock. I just said "Really!!!" During times of duress it can bring the good and the ugly out of people. Boy is that statement really true!!

So what I learned from going thru the storm is that I live every day and make the best of it because I am blessed every day!!"

Here is a picture of 1 pound of fat. WOW!! I am free of 59 of them!!! I want to thank my Sparkfriends!! Thank you for all your support from the bottom of my heart!!

Every pound lost is an accomplishment as you have to start with one at a time to get to 59! Wow, and I remembered when Oprah wheeled her lost weigh in a wagon on the show. When we see it like that, we realize how it is not helping our health. Good for you and way to go! One pound to go, you can do it!
