Sick kid

Monday, December 03, 2012

My daughter had a busy weekend. She had a friend over on Friday night, then a birthday party on Saturday. I left her and her brother at their Grandma's on Sunday so my husband and I could do some Christmas shopping. She was fine until about 10 minutes before I picked them back up.

So today I have a sick kid at home lounging on the couch. I've promised her pancakes for lunch since I think her stomach can handle them.

Normally I would have taken a walk around the park after dropping them off at the bus stop. Alas, she's still kinda young to leave in the house by herself for too long, although she is now the legal youngest age to leave for about 20 minutes.

Instead, I will be doing some cleaning and a few things for her that will get her through the day. It's never fun to be sick or be caring for a sick one.

I was going to start wrapping the presents we got yesterday, but I suppose for now they can stay in hiding, all the way down the hall, in our storage locker. They'll never find them there as they have to leave the apartment and use 3 keys to get to them.

So instead of thinking of all the things I 'was' going to do, I'll focus on the things I can accomplish today. Perhaps this means my home will get clean as she doesn't seem too bad, just a little warm and an 'icky' stomach. Since I know her, I wasn't going to attempt to send her just to have to walk her home.

So sorry your child isn't feeling well. Yes, sometimes our best laid plans go out the window when our family needs us. Hope she gets better soon!

    Hope she's feeling better soon.

I'm still amazed that my parents were able to hide presents from us kids. I'm the youngest of six and we grew up in a three-bedroom house with only one bathroom, so there wasn't any room to spare, let alone hiding places for gifts!

Hope she feels better soon . . . good for you to focus on what can accomplish -- not what was planned. Take care

I'm sorry your daughter isn't feeling too well. I hope she feels better soon. I understand the debate send to school/ have them stay home. Sounds like a good decision and I hope it's just the 24 hour bug. emoticon to both of you.
