I have heard about a sixth annual low carb cruise in May 2013.

Anyone been on this cruise any of the other five times?

How was it?

Not so sure it's a good idea. Cruises by their very definition are meant for getting away from it all, enjoying good times, good friends and good FOOD. Most folks accept they will gain 1-2 lbs per day. So if this is a diet cruise it just doesn't sound appealing to me. I would be like going to the Playboy Mansion and wearing a blind fold. LOL But different strokes for different folks.

I checked it just today because I was curious. It's leaving from Galveston and is too pricey for me, even if I hadn't just got back from my cruise, which was great. I think the matching up of people is a great idea, since I want to do it again soon, and my friend who went with me has been almost everywhere already! There are amazing values if you can go within a couple of weeks, which I could do. Or over Thanksgiving and early December seem to have the best prices of the year, which seems strange to me...

I would however think, they might have health food one or vegetarian...

I bet a recipe book would be popular emoticon

Never heard of such a cruise. What an innovative idea though. Having been on several cruises it would be great to have some options to find "healthy llifestyle" cruises. There is usually good opportunity for activities in the gym which helops to bring up the calorie burn but it would be so good to be able to balance that with healthy eating as well.

I so want to go on a cruise with my son, but when I checked into it, it is prohibitively expensive for me..but my daughter was telling me about time share cruises, maybe I can look into that.

OH wait, I tried a different search string, and maybe this is what you are looking for?

It even has links to save the powerpoint presentations from last year's cruise!

Another website discusses the same cruise but has some interesting observations from having gone there before....

Sounds like fun!!

Bon Voyage!

But I did find this forum website for folks who are going on cruises or hope to go on a cruise - it's a way to meet up and get acquainted BEFORE the actual cruise - and there were some discussions of possibly getting a group together to support each other on a no carb diet while they were on a specific cruise....

I know with some of my deaf friends - they have gone on some cruises where the entire cruise was accessible and had interpreters etc. and were billed as such - like "deaf cruise" etc. but other cruises she's gone on, she filled out their prerequisite "request for accommodations" within the amount of time required by the specific cruise line (like 3 months or whatever - have to find out from each cruise line how much lead time they require), and they have provided her with interpreters (usually groups of 2 or 3 as they need to switch off to protect their arms and hands.).... and that's worked out well for her. She lives in Florida and works for the Feds so she gets a lot of time off during the year and so she goes on probably 1-2 cruises a year (she's unmarried, no kids, lives with her older parents).

So it may be just a matter of sending a letter (something that can be documented - letter or email.) and making the inquiry. Don't know anything else to suggest....

Never heard of such, but there are all kinds of cruises all the time. I'm going on a cruise in March, but definitely not a low carb cruise!
