Right before Thanksgiving I got sick. Started with a sore throat and just tired... turned into a chest cold and nasty sore throat. Unfortunately, when you have a big family you can't just "check out," especially during a major holiday! So I did too much, didn't get the rest I needed, and it took about a week to get through it. Ugh. I was wiped out and couldn't even think about getting any workouts in (I would cough to death and then keel over if I tried!) and comfort foods was the only thing on my menu.
BUT as of Thursday, I was feeling much better so I did a short run. As soon as I started feeling chesty, I stopped and did my stretch routine. The weekend hit, and with hubbie working and kids running, I didn't get back in to the workout center until today.
But here's the cool part! I was feeling great, and I BEAT MY BEST 5K TIME!!!! I had done 30:11 at a 5K race in April. Tonight I finished in 30:06! WOOHOO!!!! I am so psyched! This has me pumped to get back to my bootcamp challenge and shave that time down to under 30. I am SO CLOSE!!!
I'm going to get there! Oh yeah!
