Whew, Thanksgiving was great! Yes, I ate too much, but still kept it reasonable. Way better than prior years! We ended up at a friends house instead of family, it was lovely and no stress at all.
December is not my favorite time of the year, but I try hard to be festive for my daughter. There is a HUGE back story here that I won't get into (you're welcome, lol). Let's just say that I do love Christmas, spending time with family and the giving/sharing aspect of the season. I just miss my mom sooo much this time of year and her birthday being on Christmas is bitter sweet. My hubby is one of Santa's helpers as he works for FedEx, so I rarely see him. As a matter of fact he starts his 6 day/week schedule tonight and he works 12-14 hour days. It's not fun for my daughter, she misses him a lot. Her letter to Santa broke my heart saying, "Daddy is always too tired to play with me and I was hoping you could do something about that". I AM THANKFUL that I will be home with her during school break, we always have so much fun :)
I have been released from PT and am doing it on my own now :) Yippeee! Getting stronger day by day. In 41 one days I will be allowed to jog. I am not excited or anything (I wish there was a way to type sarcasm!). My vision...the day is Saturday and I will walk to the pitch (soccer field) a half mile from my house and I will jog! Mind you, it will only be for 100 yards or so, but I WILL JOG!!! Then I will walk back and do my PT exercises and celebrate somehow.
Still hovering a few pounds above my goal weight, TOTALLY COOL WITH IT. If I can continue to hover through Christmas feasts and New Years hors d'oeuvres I will be happy! But once I can start jogging/running the pounds will be history.
I love seeing all the run/races going on around here in Spark! Love the festive aspect of them. Next year, I will participate fo'sho! For now, I live vicariously through you my friends, so keep running and posting, they help keep my sanity!
