How to proceed, I need to gain only .8 of a lb to maintain status quo...

at weight watchers. By "Status Quo" I mean lifetime membership. My leader (jenny) says that I need to weigh in at 125 and no less at my next weigh in on Friday December 7th, 2012.

Anyway, mom is tentatively thinking of the week of December 13th for her leg surgery. Now I just have to ask off from work for a week or two.

That's the easy part, right?. I have been with Cracker Barrel for two years this coming September and am part time and I don't know if I can get family medical leave this soon.

Also tomorrow night is the christmas party at work. I know I have my weeklies still left and already basically know what they will have as they may have some of the same stuff as last year as in my manager made chilli. someone brought a chilli dip and chips, they had pizza, and also grilled chicken (I think).

Mom says we aren't going to take anything. And then 2 weeks later is another Christmas party this time around at olive garden.

Hoping my weight watchers meeting this week will be a help for these events. Also what are some good meals to get for me to just throw together?. Maybe in a microwave?. As I know after the surgery that mom will not be up to cooking me a meal.

    Drink a big glass of water before you weigh in.
    You cannot gain .8 lbs of muscle or fat, on demand like that. If you are only concerned about the number on the scale for that specific weigh in - water is the only way to go.

    Also, look in the frozen section for some skillet meals for 2. These are nice convenience foods, they usually have meat and vegetables, sometimes some pasta, in a tasty sauce. They are probably high in sodium (since they are processed), but they can be cooked in about 15 minutes. Add a salad and it makes a nice meal.

    I am confused -- you need to GAIN .8? Seems to me that it would be better to maintain where you are. I'm sure the gain will sneak on eventually, no need to rush it.

    Guess you will learn to cook some things -- it is a valuable life skill. My favorite quick and easy recipe is this:

    Chicken and Mushroom Soup over rice

    Take boneless skinless chicken breasts, and cut it into strips, about an inch wide (you will get 4-5 strips from each breast, and this does not have to be too precise).
    In a large skillet, saute the chicken in a bit of margarine until cooked through and brown, turning and rearranging occasionally.
    Add a can of mushroom soup, and about 1/2 can of water to the skillet. Stir all around well. Cover and let simmer for a few minutes.

    Meanwhile, cook some Minute Rice, following instructions on package.

    Also steam some frozen veggies to round out the meal (green beans are nice).

    I don't know what the nutrition profile of this is, or calories, or points, or whatever. I expect it is just okay -- it could be better, but it is a nice comfort meal.
