Marathon training week 1 went fantastically!! My last blog talks about days Mon-Thurs training and it kicked a$$!!!!!
Day 5 11/30: My goal here was a tempo run. So you do a nice slow and low impact warm up and cool down. In the middle, you run as fast as you can maintain for a given distance. This is suppose to help your time during your marathon because it is faster than your marathon pace. Focusing on my half marathon in March, my goal time is 2 hours, so my mile is 9 min and 10 sec. So since this was my first week of training and my first tempo run, my goal was to run 3 miles and maintain a 9 min mile.
SO I DID! ONLY. . . I ran an 8 min, 43 sec mile! Walked for about a total of a minute in there (so a little bit of cheating in there)
I am still super proud of myself though. The next run goal will prolly be a consistent 8 min 40 sec mile for 3 miles. We will see how that goes and move on from there.

Today, I spent the day at Ralph Wilson Stadium like I do most Sundays in the fall with my dad and brother. We stood out in the rain all day and cheered the Bills on while they beat Jacksonville. it was a lot of fun and I traded in chips, hot dogs, and alcohol for grilled chicken, a salad, and water!!!
Lastly, it's my last week of classes!! Whoot!!
Tomorrow is an easy run (3 miles at 9 min, 30 sec pace) and back/biceps on P90X.
