Getting paid to walk the dog...

Sunday, December 02, 2012

No, not really. But I keep finding money while I am walking him. I don't mean just the occasional penny either. In the last two weeks I have picked up over $17, most of it foldable. Not bad for doing something I enjoy. Today I found 2 one dollar bills. One on our morning walk, and one on our afternoon walk. They were wet because it rained all day, but I dried them out and tucked them in my wallet.

Cooper and I walked 6.8 miles today over three walks. We didn't try out the new route I was thinking of due to the rainy conditions. I thought I was doing pretty good to get him to go as far as we did. The next clear day though we are going to try it out.

I did okay with food today. Too much fat, but I will try to balance it out tomorrow. I cooked up my spaghetti squash for dinner. It was big enough that I can have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I really like it with tomato sauce and parmesan. It is also good with just a touch of butter and parmesan too. I am also working on eating up the apples I got at the farmer's market. I had two today. My sodium has been running a little high again too. My problem is that I really love pickles. A sandwich isn't complete without a couple slices of pickle!

I have a walking appointment tomorrow morning at 10am, and company coming at 11:30am. I guess Cooper will get a short walk tomorrow morning. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow so he won't mind. Speaking of water... they still haven't fixed ours, so I am still having to boil or buy water. I filled two gallon jugs at my parents' house yesterday, but I have already used up one of them. I heard we might not get the boil water order lifted until Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully they fix it before then. I am getting tired of this!

I'm really hoping they get your water fixed soon. I can't imagine being under a boil order as long as you have been. YIKES!

I never find money on my walks, but they are residential sidewalks or area lakes. Perhaps if I tried to hit some parking lots I might make out better! I have heard the drive through lanes through fast foods are gold mines! But not sure I would go to that much trouble! Glad you are doing so well though!

Please tell me where you are walking so I can come along and "get paid" too! I cannot believe you are STILL boiling water 5 days later! I would have been insane already.

We have a well, so when the hurricanes hit and the power grid goes down, so does our water supply. I have asked dad if the generator will run the pump and thank goodness it can and will as well as keep out freezer cold. When the hurricanes come through Florida, you never know what to expect!

But I would really, really love a free-flowing pressure well that does not run on electric and is a constant source and all you have to do is open a gauge and water pulls itself up the well line and into your house. They are quite expensive and your well line needs to be like 500 feet deep - would cost a FORTUNE!

But keep walking Cooper! At least you are making money!

I never find much other than pennies. The only time I found foldable money was when I was a child and my mother made me take it into the store (I found it in the parking lot) in case someone lost it and came back for it. I know that was the right thing to do, but it was a bummer.

I can relate to the pickles. I could pickle chips plain. And they have to present on a sandwich. I love finding money, but I rarely pick up as much as you are. I hope it keeps happening for ya.

Must be a sign that you'll be having some abundance come into your life - lucky you!
Hope your water is fixed soon. It's hard when you have to worry about rationing water, and not having enough to drink.
