Week three and still going strong

Although I haven't lost any weight this week, I still feel like I am doing pretty well. I am learning more and more about the right things I should do and why it makes a difference. I started an exercise program to help me get on track with that as well.
I really didn't know what I didn't know. For instance, carbs are all about sugar. How much sugar in your system can be mitigated by having it with fiber. Not all carbs are created equal. Fruits break down into fiber, glucose and fructose. Veggies are mostly fiber and glucose. These are each broken down in your system at different levels depending on how much fiber each contains. Cooked white potatoes breaks down into all glucose. I really didn't know that one. Next week we will learn more about carbohydrates. The different types and the best way to eat them to keep from having sugar spikes. So much to remember to lead a healthy lifestyle.
My first trip to the gym went pretty well. I learned the proper way to use hand weights and worked on upper body exercises with them. I hope I don't hurt too badly tomorrow. I already feel it in my shoulders. I used a cardio machine call a NuStep machine. It seemed almost like an elliptical machine but you do it sitting down. I did interval trainng on the machine with 4 minutes at a pretty good pace and then 20 seconds at a very high pace. I worked up a good sweat but I couldn't figure out how to put it in SP so I just used elliptical for the equip. I hope it is about the same. The plan is to do 6 days of cardio and 3 days of strength training. So tomorrow will be just cardio and Tuesday I plan to do circuit training for 30 minutes.
Well that's it for now. I am going to plan my meals for the week and go to bed. I will write another blog next Sunday. Have a great week.
