OK, I'm not a total convert, I would still rather be doing something else besides cooking. But I have learned that cooking healthy often takes far less time than they way I used to cook. I've tried many recipes from Spark and I am amazed at how easy they are and how little prep time they take. Of course it helps that I have made it a habit to do a bit more planning ahead and often have a menu for the week figured out before I go shopping. That's what I've learned from my experience on Spark, that cooking doesn't have to be a chore and that a little planning now avoids a lot of poor eating choices down the road.
I have lost 35 pounds so far, I'm just 1 pound away from my goal weight. Most of that is due to religious daily tracking and learning to be a better, healthier cook. I no longer feel the need to go out to eat because I'm exhausted after work. I'm still exhausted but I have simple, easy, healthy and trim alternatives planned that I can put together in little time. Hubby helps a bunch by prepping veges, he's kind of like my own personal kitchen assistant (-; I've discovered that healthy eating is much easier than I thought and that eating out isn't as stress free as I thought. After all, eating out was the main cause of my weight gain in the first place and I was definitely stressing about that! Now that I feel comfortable cooking at home and have the support of the great recipes here on Spark I am confident that I will be able to maintain my weight forever! That's a feeling I honestly thought I'd never have.
