not a good day

Sunday, December 02, 2012

Dh and I have been working on this shed for 2 weeks now. he has done a great job so far . well today I was awaken by DH standing in the kicthen dripping blood from his hand. he was supposed to wake me up this am so I coule help him out side with the shed,he didn't. seems he was sawing a board it slipped and he went to cacth it, the saw ( circular saw) got his thumb . our youngest son ( 38) drove him to the hospital. the xrays showed he cut his thumb 3/4 of the way through bone.

so today was not a good day, but accidents happen. Luckily he did not lose his thumb.

I loved this comment -"Sometimes men can do the stupidest things, can't they?"

Yes we can!!

Carolyn, give him some TLC and then kick him in the rear. emoticon Those things happen and thank God it wasn't worse. The sun will shine on your life again.

I sm sorry to hear this. My son was at work and I remember him coming into the office, I heard him from my office, and he said " Dad, I crushed my hand" . He lost a finger. He does fine with it but my heart still breaks when I see it. Nothing slows him down. I am glad we were at the shop that day and able to get him to the emergency room.. I am thankful he did not lose his hand. This guy is always so careful but it happened.
Glad your husband is OK.

Oh boy, that made me cringe. It will definitely be a few days before he can work on that shed. Poor guy. And what a day for you all. So sorry, but happy he didn't lose his thumb.

Oh dear Carolyn! Yes,thank goodness he will still have his thumb. That was a close one.

The shed looks like it will be awesome when completed.

Take your time and tell him to sit back and slow down. It'll get done. Just enjoy this season.

Be well. emoticon

Sending my emoticon to both of you. From the experience of a small fraction of his injury, I know he will be having a lot of thumping for awhile.

God bless you both.

I'm so sorry to hear about the accident. It is hard building your own place (my hubby built ours with my dad 27 years ago). Even though it's hard, make sure he takes the time to heal.

Carolyn, so sorry for your Hubby, man he is going to be some sore.

The shed looks awesome, he has been working hard.

Hugs to him, you try to relax, it had to be hard on you, too.
